OK,
so what is this "stacking" all about you ask.
Well imagine you have a domain name called "parent.com"
You now buy another domain name called "child.com"
You want the "child.com" to execute the index page of the
"parent.com" web site.
Ezi done - but this is not adequate for some circumstances
Imagine you want "child.com" (because it could be in a different
language or whatever) to execute its own index page.
We can do this by stacking "child.com" onto "parent.com".
Just create a sub-directory called "child" and upload your
"child.com" index page there.
Not
happy Jane, I here you say and fair enough. The visitor has to type into the
browser:
http://www.parent.com/child/
to get to your stacked domain.
What
this tool does is write some code for your .htaccess files to trick the
browser in displaying:
http://www.child.com
in the browser's address bar, where in fact they are looking at:
http://www.parent.com/child/
So,
one thing that springs to mind is that you can subdivide your space and sublet
directories in a professional manner. Great for web designers looking after
a few clients or run your own mini web hosting enterprise.
Just enter the 2 pieces of information below and this tool will create the necessary code:
